Kalyakool Farm – Project update 5

By February 25, 2021 March 2nd, 2021 Kalyakool, News, Off-grid

Commissioned in March 2020, the Kalyakool Farm battery energy storage system (BESS) has now reached its first full year in operation – and we are extremely pleased with the results.

Logging into the Victron Remote Management (VRM) portal, the snapshot below highlights how a perfectly sized Solar Array and BESS can power a farm entirely off-grid, using what we believe is the most sustainable, safe, renewable energy products on the market.

What is also impressive is that for the entire 12 months operation, a mere 123kWh of grid energy was required to see out those underperforming renewable production days – it’s pleasing to know that this farm is doing its part to help reduce demand on the underperforming utility supply.
